Special Guest Instructor: Craig Cackowski

Can you say L E G E N D !

That’s a rhetorical question. Of course you can. And never has that word been more apt than to describe the most recent Impro-Master to join the LMA roster – Craig Cackowski. Craig is coming in 2016. Yes, we know that seems like forever away, but hey, look at it this way: Plenty of time to brush up your improv skills and get ready.

We reached out to Craig earlier this year and when he told us he was coming down under to perform as part of Thrilling Adventure Hour at the Sydney Comedy Festival, we decided to explore how we could team up on some workshops and other exciting projects and this led to our sold out Improv Q&A held in partnership with MetroScreen and Ladykiller. If you’re interested, you can watch the whole thing here.

Special Guest Instructor: Craig Cackowski The Home of Improv and Sketch Comedy in Australia
This is one example of an "exciting project" that Craig has helped put together with LMA

Craig Cackowski has been involved with Improv Olympic (iO) and iO West Theaters as a Performer, Coach, Teacher and Director since 1992.

As a Teacher, he is the three-time winner of the Del Close “Teacher of the Year” award.

As a Performer, he can be seen weekly at iO West improvising with Bob Dassie and Rich Talarico in Dasariski (celebrating 16 years together in 2015).

In Chicago, Craig performed with the Second City Mainstage and ETC, as well as with Baby Wants Candy, Carl and the Passions and the original cast of Close Quarters.

Film and television appearances include Drunk History, Community, Veep, Newsreaders, Comedy Bang Bang, The  Mindy Project, How I Met Your Mother, Trust Us With Your Life, Workaholics, The Kings Of Summer, 21 And Over and Year of The Dog.

He may also be heard on the long-running podcast The Thrilling Adventure Hour, playing such characters as Colonel Tick Tock and millionaire hobo Banjo Bindlestuff.

He can currently be seen performing at iO with The Armando Diaz ExperienceQuartet, and Dasariski.

We cannot WAIT to get him back to Australia to run some great workshops in 2016 – especially his famous “Dr. Cacki’s Improv Cleanse.”
