LMA Announces "The Draft"

The Draft is how we reward students with perfect attendance and promptness. It’s really simple: If you have a 100% class attendance record and are never late, you will get to play with the Teachers on stage at the end of term Gold Coin Comedy Show. Which is kind of a big deal.

And while we’re on the topic of shows, all students are strongly encouraged to attend LMA shows, as well as any other comedy shows around town. Shows will be discussed in class and seeing them is a valuable part of your overall training. They’re more than just a cool thing to do, they’re a necessary step to becoming good improvisers. Getting together with your fellow students outside of class to practice is also highly recommended, as is participation in any LMA Jams. Jams are run semi-regularly and will always be announced on the LMA Student Facebook page.

Remember: Attendance & Promptness are very important at LMA. If you miss more than two classes, you can keep coming to any remaining classes until the term ends, but you won’t be able to advance to the next level. Showing up on time is the best way to make sure you don’t disrupt class. If you know you’re going to be late, let your Instructor know. If you’re just late because sometimes stuff happens, then enter class quietly and simply observe until your Instructor brings you into the activities. If you are chronically late and disruptive we’ll spare you any cruel and unusual punishment, but you may be asked to suspend classes. And no, you can’t get a refund.

So get a good watch, set multiple alarms on your iPhone, or keep an ear out for those hourly church bells. But whatever you do, get to class on time and play nice, and soon you too could be on stage playing with your favourite LMA Teachers in a show.
