David Tieck is Back... In Melbourne!

LMA is excited to welcome David Tieck back to the roster of Australian Teachers, this time at LMA Melbourne.

Some of you may recognise him from our shows at The Belvoir St. Theatre where he not only performed, but also coached a Student House Team. His experience is vast, with training from all the top schools in Chicago, Toronto and LA, and we are delighted to have him back in the LMA family.

After catching the Improv “bug” David moved to New York to study at the Upright Citizens Brigade and has since travelled around North America studying Improv and Sketch at UCB and The PIT in New York, iO in Chicago, The Second City and Impatient Theater Company in Toronto, and he spent five years in Los Angeles studying and performing regularly at UCB, The Second City and iOWest, and has had the privilege to study with many of the best improvisors in the world.

At iO West he was a member of the house teams Buick Grand National and Tender Places, ran his own show Ok, Intriguing: The Experimental Comedy Show for several years, was a cast member with the Not Ready For Main Stage Players weekly sketch show, and was part of Big News TV created by former SNL writer, Michael McCarthy, and produced by SNL and Kids In The Hall Producer, Pam Thomas.

He has played in countless indie shows all over North America. And in Australia has performed solo Improv shows at the Adelaide Fringe and Sydney Fringe, performed sketch and improv with OverUnder Improv in Giddyup Garfunkle, played with and ran workshops with Blanket Improv, was a regular performer at Likewiseand co-runs Crown Comedy in Parramatta on Monday nights where he can be seen doing all sorts of improvised experimental weirdness.
