Improv is for everyone
Improv isn’t just for Comedians. It teaches clearer communication, faster thinking, improved creativity, confidence, and more. But don’t take our word for it, listen to what LMA Students have to say about their experience and then read: Who Should Take Improv & Why.
The future is sketchy
Do you love Sketch Comedy? Do you scour YouTube for the latest Saturday Night Live episodes? Do you aspire to write, perform, or produce funny things for other people to watch? LMA’s comedy writing classes, improv-to-sketch training, and our production arm, Comedy & Co. can help you find a future in the funny business.
Let's get down to business
LMA’s Professional Development Programs will improve your team’s presentation and communication skills, help them think quickly, react confidently, and behave authentically, as well as provide invaluable tools for collaboration.
We're taking off!
Our unique curriculum is expanding in Surry Hils, North Melbourne, and soon Parramatta with more Instructors, Classes, and Shows. Don’t miss out: Connect with @laughmasters on social media to save with Early Bird Rego and hear about upcoming events.

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ LMA is run with a passion for improv and life. I love the course structure and passionate teachers. I can highly recommend LMA to anyone. It’s a truly inclusive and supportive school. I feel I’ve grown as a person and I look forward to continuing my improv classes!
Ryan Carney
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Signing up for LMA is one of the best decisions I’ve made. You’ll go in not knowing what to expect and leave with a growth mindset. There’s lots of opportunities to perform and be a part of the community but they aren’t pushy. It’s about what you’re comfortable with doing. It’s a great social experience and you’ll meet all walks of life.
Jacob Parnell
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ The first few weeks get you out of your comfort zone but once you get into scenes and start creating it’s hard not to get addicted. The experience is full of self-discovery, improving your mindfulness and communication skills. There aren’t many (if any) other times in the week when you spend a full 3 hours laughing out loud. It’s fantastic!
Nish Merchant
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ I couldn’t recommend LMA more. The teachers are very supportive and experienced, the student shows are really fun and not by any means compulsory if people are not feeling ready to perform, and most importantly the community vibe is unmatched. If you’re trying improv out for the first time like I did, you wanna be at LMA.
Flavie Laliberte
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ LMA is the best improvisation school I’ve ever been too. The classes are small so the teacher spends a lot of time with each student. All the students get very close and we end up like family. LMA distinguishes itself and I highly recommend you sign up. IT WILL CHANGE YOUR LIFE!
Joel Roast
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ These classes are great fun! The things people say and do when they’re thrown into unexpected situations and have no time to think are priceless. Such an exhilarating way to live in the moment, be more in tune with other people and their feelings and become more adaptable and spontaneous.
Jake Xerri
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ This place reminded me what it feels like to laugh again, and then some. Needing some fun? Needing some confidence? Want to meet new people?
Check, check and check.

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ This class changed my life. I’ve become more open and kind. I feel safe speaking what lies in my heart, and know how to say it so that I am understood. I am forming more meaningful relationships, and now seeing vistas I never thought existed, or that I deserved.
Nomi Mourra
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ LMA has made learning improv interesting, safe and fun. I have had the pleasure of being taught by a variety of lovely teachers who have taught us different things along the way. I look forward to moving forward with great friends I’ve made along the way. Yay for improv and yay for LMA!
Elise Watson
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Wowser – this is so much fun! Teachers are fab and bonding with classmates happens so quick. Its the favourite 3 hours of my week, giggling and phone-free.
Jivtesh Singh
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Just wanted to thank LMA teachers for being amazing. You rock at this and your genuine excitement and encouragement keeps everyone motivated. I love how they always find something specific and positive in everyone’s scene.
Dima Tsyptsiura
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ After finishing Level 1 Improv I can confidently say that results greatly exceeded all of my expectations. Those courses were supposed to improve my English fluency (it’s a second language to me), boost my confidence, and to help me successfully relate to and better understand English-speaking people. I achieved all of those goals, and much, much more.
Madeleine Shaw
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ In-depth long form training, really good, very friendly, fun to do but serious about teaching. Recommended.
Alan Hong
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ I highly recommend LMA to anyone and everyone! These skills you learn go beyond an improv comedy act that will serve you well in any career, social or relational pursuits. If you want to be successful, confident, funny, charismatic and life of the party yet, warm, understanding and supportive then LMA is the best way to do that!
Howard Raines
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ I recently completed Level 1 at Laugh Masters Academy in Sydney. I have to say that this was an incredible experience. For anyone who is looking to have fun, meet some great people and learn some great skills that can be used in many areas of your life, stop everything and sign up to the next class!
Anna Fry
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ I’ve learned how to let go of idea ownership and credit, and just get on with building things together with my team.
Chicago Born
Our teachers have trained at the top schools in LA, New York – and Chicago – the official birthplace of Improv & Sketch comedy.
Small Classes
Unlike some improv theatre classes we keep ours at around 15 people so everyone gets personal attention and instruction.
We Teach What You Watch
The people you love on TV and in films, from Tina Fey to Steve Carell, all trained in Long Form Improv.
We Got Your Back!
Some improv theatre classes focus on “winning,” but improv isn’t a sport. We’re collaborative, not competitive.
Life Skills
Our Level 1 Improv Classes are as much about becoming a better human as they are about being funny.
