Pete Lead Joins the LMA Roster

Super exciting news today for all LMA students and alumni, Mr. Pete Lead has come on board and will be teaching our next Level 3 Improv Class in Sydney. If his smiling face is familiar, you may have seen him perform at one of our Gold Coin Comedy Nights. We couldn’t be more excited to have this legend on side and look forward to his Level 3 class starting in early October!

Pete Lead has been an active force in the Sydney improv community for years, and teaching and coaching improv for more than a decade. He co-founded the production company Twisted Melon in 2005 where he directed Gorilla Theatre, the improv and sketch revue Barrel of Monkeys, longform improv shows Like There’s No Tomorrow, and helped create Sydney’s first Improv Festival.

Pete started his improv training in TheatreSports in 1998, and before long was producing TheatreSports shows for Impro Australia at the Enmore Theatre, Belvoir St Theatre and NIDA, but was quick to discover and embrace the “Chicago Style” of Long Form (longform) Improv and has sine used it exclusively to develop improvised musicals and sketch comedy.

He has performed at festivals in Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane and Canberra. Pete was a cast member of the long-running BLANK! The Musical, a member of The A-Train troupe, and one-third of the speculative-fiction What if…?. He played Picasso in Picasso at the Lapin Agile and played himself – and other people in his solo show The Mockingbird. He currently performs in improv duo Dumping Julie and co-hosts (and performs) at the Arthur B’s
